MAKE MISTAKES AND LEARN FROM THEM BHUVAN BAM
There are many lessons that I have learnt in my life. I don’t know if people can relate to things that I’ve learnt. But in general, I don’t like to copy someone else. Get inspired by them, but do something of your own. I also feel that it’s very important to have the right kind of friends in your life. There will be people who will praise you for everything, but you need the ones who also point out your mistakes. Mistakes make you perfect. They will help you learn things and then shape you in a better being. Another thing is that you should never be jealous of people, because we always see the icing on the cake, but do not see the effort that has gone to make that cake. He has achieved success because he has worked hard for it. And you will too, when your time comes.
KEEP YOUR PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL LIFE SEPARATE AMIT TANDON
This story is from one of my stand-ups in Delhi. It was a soldout show in a pub. As excited as I was to have a house-full, I was also going through issues on the personal front which is why I wasn’t 100 per cent there. While I was sitting backstage brooding over what had gone wrong, there was a couple that wanted to see me. Caught up in my mind, I asked him if I can meet them after the show. They had come from a different city just to watch my show, but I wasn’t willing to meet them for two minutes. That struck me and filled me with guilt. I met them immediately and thanked them for coming. I realised that no matter what you’re going through in your personal life, when you’re performing, you have to use your time to entertain the crowds and help them forget their worries too
SPEND TIME ON BEING HEALTHY ADNAN NALWALA
As a stand-up comedian, I meet and see a lot of people on a daily basis. And it was during one of my shows that I realised that we Indians are so negligent towards our overall health. I see my friends and other strangers neglect their health at the cost of work or simply being indulgent. They do not follow a healthy lifestyle. Ignore sleeping patterns, do not eat healthy and instead eat all kinds of junk. What we do not realise is that if we are physically fit, we can accomplish a lot more in any field of life. If we lead a healthy life, we will have the energy and focus to succeed. A strong mind gives focus and a strong body gives energy. Despite all the work that you have, you should spend time in exercising every day. Choose health over fame and money. It's an old saying, but still holds true, health is wealth!
SHOW PERSEVERANCE AND YOU’LL WIN THE GAME APPURV GUPTA
One of the life lessons that I’ve learnt and would like you all to know is that anything is possible if you are a professional in practicing perseverance. Most people lose the game at the last moment, but I prefer to play it until I win or I realise that I’m not meant for this game. In stand-up comedy, I think that I don’t have as much talent as other comedians in the industry, but where I succeed is my determination. And I make sure that I give my best shot. And maybe that’s the reason why people still remember a lot of my previous works. I firmly believe that those guys who think that they are not as talented as their colleagues should pursue their work no matter what. And one day, you will win the battle. Because, if you show perseverance in any field, you can beat the talented ones too.
TRY AND TRY UNTIL YOU SUCCEED SAHIL SHAH
I had read somewhere ‘Everything is difficult before it becomes easy’ and literally that’s the best and nicest advice that I can give to anyone who wants to do anything (Be it stand-up, exercising, learning a new skill, or anything for that matter.) Everybody has to grind before he/she becomes successful. And I believe that It’s the best motto for life.
IT’S A GOOD THING TO GET INSPIRED BY SOMEONE, BUT YOU DON’T NEED TO COPY HIM/HER. CREATE YOUR OWN IDENTITY
